ArtAbout SF Fine Art
SF Fine Art specialises in quality high quality
indigenous art. Director Sally Ferguson travels to remote aboriginal
communities such as Papunya Tula and Warlukurlangu at Yuendumu, just
to name a couple, to meet and source art for appreciation and
investment. All art is fully documented by the community, auction
records are tracked and artists' careers are nurtured and the
provenance is impeccable.
Philosophy
SF Fine Art represents artists from the central Western Desert as well as artists from other remote Australian communities. Sally is passionate about the long and rich history of aboriginal art and takes pride in helping artists, patrons, collectors and colleagues alike understand, acquire and develop an art appreciation which will add value and depth to the art they have collected.
SF Fine Art assists its clients to acquire art for both corporate and public collections along with the private connoisseur and admirer to build a historically and aesthetically admirable collection of works.
International Relations Collection
As the world becomes smaller and communication is fast and efficient the benefits from exposure to other races will enrich our lives and go towards a better understanding of others religious beliefs. SF Fine Art represents artists from South Korea and procures fine art for its clients, collectors and passionate amateurs alike and hopes to bridge the cultural divide and strengthen our bonds.
Charitable Responsibility
Donating profits back to the community through the sale of works of art by SF Fine Art is a social and political responsibility that Sally would like to see practiced more widely. Three percent of all private and public sales is returned to the communities supporting programs such as the Kintore Dialysis unit in the Gibson Desert, and to the building of swimming pools to aid in clean and healthy swimming environments for all, and help to prevent sicknesses such as skin conditions and ear infections.
The Australian Art Movement has had an enormous impact internationally as well as locally, and its sacred element sets it apart from the rest of the world.
In fact the new museum that Jacques Chirac supported, and the government funded, was opened in Paris in 2006, this is the Musee du quai Branly. This exposure has brought such awareness of our indigenous culture that our aboriginal art is enjoying a boom that is unprecedented. The Aboriginal culture is the oldest living continuing art movement in the world and as such has had a powerful influence on its creators as well as the generations that have followed.
SF Fine Art would also aim to enlighten peoples' awareness of art of our indigenous people, lead them on a journey of discovery, so they can be a constant source of pleasure and delight, whilst helping to establish much needed facilities for the future well being of the race.
